Final blog post for the semester of 2015

Making this video was fun and relevant to what was going on in my life, because finals was next week. It was interesting to learn what other people did for finals week and what kept them motivated to keep going and not give up towards the end.

The challenging part of this project was finding something to do. I did contribute to brainstorming and some of the interview questions, but after that I did not know what else to do. I was planning on helping out with editing, but before I knew it Natalie was already done with the whole project. I was grateful, proud, excited, relieved, but at the same time felt really bad. Good job Natalie, we are very lucky to have you on the team. 

This semester has been fun and can't wait for next year :D

The Gap Video. Practice makes perfect

The Gap video was very inspirational because it told the viewers to keep persevering on what they want to do. This means a lot to me, because at first I was bad at taking pictures but as I keep practicing I will be able to develop my own style.

Video Editing:
1. I learned not to use wevideo for editing and not to zoom in while recording because it makes the video shaky.
2.The most difficult is framing and transitions.
3. what seems the easiest is making the titles and end credits.

My Video:
1. I will use a tripod to film my video so it will not be messy.
2.I will most likely film in the park near my house.
3. My sister will be helping with my video.

Storyboarding:

Story boarding is great way to organize a production so that time will be saved. It is good prep that will do good in the long run. I already knew that most productions use story boards when they are making each episode, so I wasn't really surprised much. I wonder if reality TV shows use story boards.

Blog post 1 for the video unit

It is unfortunate that we are exiting the web design unit, but I am excited for the video unit too. The most challenging thing about web design is starting because it can be hard to come up with a design. I remember having trouble starting with my website because I wasn't sure on what I wanted to do yet. The easiest to understand and execute was linking because I found it fun to do. The most rewarding was my end product of course. Yes I will continue to practice my skills for webdesign because I really enjoyed it.

the video "Sight"

That video was so creepy and its scary thinking that something like that could happen. living a life almost like a computer is daunting and I don't think even I would want to live a life like that. To be fully dependent on technology would not be a good thing, because it could break down any moment like the incident that the girl was talking about when sight broke down. I would like to know more about the main character, like I wonder what exactly he did and how many girls he has controlled. This video not only predicted what would happen if technology advanced to this point, but it also showed the dangers of cyber dating or meeting people that you didn't really know too well.

The internet Explained video, onesecond.designly.com, and Amazing mind reader reveals his 'gift' video

Its crazy that the internet has only been around for thirty years, considering how flexible and easy it is to use now. I couldn't imagine going through everyday without the internet, because I use it so much now for school and entertainment. Since everyone can easily use the internet, it makes it a very dangerous 'place' too. The amazing "mind reader" video was very creepy and scary not only because of the people on the computers, but also because that its very true that anyone can get just about anybody's information. That is why it is important to not just randomly give out personal information. Unfortunately we, as people, cannot get away from the world wide web because we are so dependent on it.

What My website will be like.....

My website will either be a portfolio, a business website, or a page that has information on it.

The video was fascinating. It showed us that the internet is not amazing but the people that made it, make it, use it are amazing. Everyone makes up the internet. I thought it was a little bit confusing though, because I didn't know if it was teaching us or introducing us to the wonders of the web.

Web 1 is the first or older version of the internet today. Its kind of like the father figure. Web 2 is also old, where the internet or microsoft came out. Web three is the latest version (obviously) and I guess has newer applications like google Chrome, and is much more easier to navigate....
       this is a summary.....I'm just guessing.

The design is very distracting, not easy to navigate, and a lot of blinking lights.

What I liked the best

Of all the lessons that we have learned these three weeks, I really enjoyed cutting and inserting pictures into other pictures. Cutting and pasting, I feel like, are the foundations of Photoshop. I really enjoyed Photoshop and I might download the software on my laptop.

Our band name is made up of our first names but put into an acronym.  "Just another regular day" our genre is rock and roll. Abu, Doreen, Rehma, and I are the members for the Band. Abu is the singer, Doreen plays the drums, Rehma is the guitarist, and I play the bass.

Someone told me that the rainbow was random, but I added with the rainbow so that the back would be colorful like the front cover. :) I didn't want to make six song names at the time so I just kept it simple and numbered the songs. 

I added a glow around Abu's head to match with the colorful title. 

I really like this...it feels like it could be a CD cover ^^

I forgot what stamp I used.. but go to filter gallery in the filter section and that is where the filters are  ^^
The color palette was black and white, which I thought was very cool  but it looked really empty. So I added leaves from the paint brush and just splattered it everywhere.

extreme makeover comment

Today we will be learning about retouching photos. Ms. Curtiss showed us a few videos that showed people retouching some photos. Before watching any of the videos and taking this class, I was already aware of the many things that Photoshop could do and how other people were using it. So I wasn't surprised when I saw a girl become instantly thin from the many clicks of the mouse. Even though I was not shocked by the videos, I still thought the transformation was amazing. Honestly, to me, it is a waste of time for someone to redo someone else's natural beauty. While the Photoshop-er is spending time "retouching" a picture, the time could be spent getting more material or something else.

Not really a selfie but i wanted to take a picture like this just beacuse I am not feeling so pretty right now. 

this is a old picture :P. I got the background by searching up tumblr backgrounds on google images of course. I had to erase some things(like the hair) but I didn't want to ruin the background so I clicked the eye button so it wouldn't show and started erasing. Use the softer brush so the lines will not be harsh. Go to the lasso tool so that I can have more options to cut.

....and I don't remember anything else that I did.....

HELLO

To move the costumes, select an item and press v on the keyboard to move it. The photo used to be black and white,but I wanted to change the color so that is why it is different. I forgot how I changed the color in the first place so the result turned out different than I wanted it to be. There are other versions for the lasso tool, to open it I have to somehow find a way to open the menu that will show me the options. At the top, there are text options, so if I don't like the text than I can always change it. :) If my cut job turned out to be bad, I can always fix it by going to refine edge. It makes my selected and cut photo look a lot more smoother and cleaner.

Go to filter then liquify, to distort the dog. 

I changed the effects to subtract. difference kind of does the same thing.

Fx gives the object shadows

The most funniest part about Photoshop is distorting the picture and changing the effect of it. 

Crtl+t changes the size of the picture

Although this dog doesn't look cute anymore, this is still cool. 

LOLLIPOPS

Use hue saturation to change the color of the lollipops.select an item and copy so it can be added as another layer. REMEMBER TO NAME THE LAYERS!!
If I need to look at what I did, go to windows and go down to history so I can delete or look at anything.
crtl+j is copying to another layer and crtl+c is copying.
